What is Brewball?

The ultimate craft beer and softball festival in support of Softball City! Our festival brings together the best of both worlds: the thrill of softball and the deliciousness of craft beer. The event also includes live bands, DJs, food trucks, and games for the whole family!

When and where will Brewball take place?

The event takes place at Softball City, 2201 148 St, Surrey, BC V4A 9P5

How can I register my team for the softball tournament?

Is the event free?

The event is free to attend for watching baseball, enjoying live entertainment, and exploring our food trucks. The only part of the event that requires tickets is the craft beverage tasting. There is no outside food and beverage in the park allowed.

What are the registration fees for teams?

$500 to register your team which will not only get you some great tournament play, live bands, and access to food trucks, but you will also receive $100 in drink tokens to sample some of the great craft breweries on site!

When are the softball games being played?

Friday evening, Saturday day-evening and Sunday day-evening

Is there an age requirement to participate in the softball tournament?

Minimum age: a player must be 18 years of age to participate.

What are the lineup rules?

Lineup rules for Brewball are as follows:

  1. Teams must start with a batting order of seven (7) male & three (3) female players. You may bat more than 10 players but for every male added to the lineup a female must be added. If one of the “extra” players get hurt and you have no substitute, an automatic out will occur. 
  2. The batting order must not have more than three (3) male batters in a row. Should a team choose to play 6/4, the batting lineup must not have more than two (2) male batters in a row., or 5/5, the batting order must not have more than one (1) male batter in a row.
  3. There must be ay least three (3) female players in the batting order throughout the entire game. An out will be declared if either the female player is not available for her at bat or she is injured and there are no female substitutes. 
  4. A team must field a minimum of nine (9) players, of which at least two (2) must be female players, to start and complete the game. There will be an automatic out for the tenth player (third female) unless they enter the game prior to their first at bat. 
  5. A female player may be entered as a substitute for a male player. A male player may not be substituted for a female player. 

Is there a limit to how many teams can register for the tournament?

We’re allowing up to 24 teams to register for the weekend.

What prizes are available for the winning softball team?

1st Prize $1500 PLUS BREWBALL CHAMPS t-shirt

2nd Prize $1000

3rd Prize $750

Best Dressed $500

Best Team Cheer $500

How many craft breweries will be participating in the tasting?

The event will feature at least 15 breweries, cideries, wineries, and distilleries.

Who are the featured musicians or bands performing at Brewball?

TBD, but you know they’ll keep you moving!

Are there food options available for purchase at Brewball?

Softball City has a fully licensed restaurant and Brewball will also feature a variety of food trucks.

When does the band and DJ start?

Our live bands will start around 5 PM, and DJ’s will play throughout the day and evening.

Is the event rain or shine?

Yes, the event will happen regardless of the weather.

Are there seating areas available for attendees to enjoy their food and drinks?

Yes, there will be seating throughout Softball City.

Will there be first aid services or medical personnel on-site?

Yes, there will be first aid services and medical personnel available on-site to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

Do I need to print my ticket?

No. Barcodes on your phones are 100% sufficient.

Is there a ticket limit?

No, there is not.

How are tickets delivered?

Tickets are delivered via email. If you don’t receive your tickets please contact us at www.brewball.ca/contact/

How much is parking?

Parking is free for all of the attendees!

Is this event wheelchair accessible?

Definitely! All areas of Brewball will be wheelchair accessible. Should you have or require any special requests, please Contact Us.

What age do I have to be to attend? Can I bring my kids?

Brewball is a family event, and there are no age restrictions besides our craft-tasting garden which will be 19+.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed during special events at Softball City.

Are outside food and drink allowed at the event?

Sorry, but no outside food or drink is permitted to enter the premises.

Is smoking permitted at the event?

Any person(s) observed smoking will be asked to stop and if they persist will be asked to leave the park. Smoking includes cigarettes, marijuana, and vaping. Note this is a City bylaw.

Are there ins and outs allowed?

Yes, as a free event you are welcome to come and go. The site is subject to capacity though.
